"We're Green" - BIBA Energy Breakfast
Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM (EST)
Join BIBA for a breakfast meeting at the Algonquin Club with Marshall Chapin as our speaker on the topic of energy efficiency.
Marshall is a Senior Business Development officer with EnerNOC (ENOC). EnerNOC is transforming the way the world uses energy by helping commercial, instituational and indusrtial organizations user energy more intelligently, pay less for it and generate cash flow that benefits the bottom line. With Energy Consumption and Renewable Energy a major issue in both America and Ireland, this meeting should do a great job of identifying the problem, trends and opportunites that lay ahead in the energy business.
More specifically, this talk will explore how the electric grid evolved into its current form and the current challenges posed by existing grid architecture. Seasonality of electric consumption and grid reliability issues will be covered followed by EnerNOC’s experiences in reducing peak demand during high consumption periods. The economics of additional capital investment in new electric generation will be compared with demand response and smart grid applications that improve utilization of existing grid infrastructure. The talk will conclude with an analysis of demand response and energy efficiency from the perspective of deregulated grid operators, regulated utilities, and the end use customer followed by a Q & A.
We look forward to seenig you on the 21st!
